MISSION
·To support and promote HIM professionals by advancing
best practices through education, professional development,
leadership, advocacy, and communication.
VISION
The Indiana Health Information Management Association will
be the recognized leader in Health Information Management
for the state of Indiana.
OBJECTIVES
- Support HIM educational programs and professional development
- Provide mechanisms to exchange relevant information
within our membership on a timely basis
- Advance knowledge of e-HIM
- Advance adherence to professional standards
- Advocate patient privacy rights and confidentiality
of health information
- Influence public and private policies
- Provide professional and community education regarding
health information practices and topics
- Recruit and mentor HIM professionals
